Vail is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Which is why those of us lucky enough to live, visit, and play here care about keeping our footprint small, our resources plentiful, and our contribution to sustainability top of mind. It’s the least we can do for the place we all love.

The Town of Vail is excited to announce the 2nd Community Business Recycling Challenge that includes free, customized training, progress reports and bragging rights in three award categories. The competition will start the week of July 27 and run through the month of August and is available to the first 20 businesses that register. Retail stores, restaurants, bars, lodges, offices and all other Vail business license holders are eligible to participate. Signups are being taken through Monday, July 20.

Town of Vail will be hosting a Hard to Recycle event on Friday, July 24th from 10 am until 3 pm at the Ford Park Parking Lot in Vail. The event will accept electronics waste, household hazardous waste and yard waste. There will be a paper shredding service on site who will shred and recycle documents.

It's all part of our sustainability plan to keep Vail beautiful.

In July 2014, Vail launched an ambitious sustainability initiative that made recycling mandatory, instituted wildlife-resistant containers, and launched a public information campaign, which you just happen to be experiencing right now.

Vail may be known for the (frozen) water on its peaks, but the water running through Gore Creek is a vital part of our community, too. Learn about the environmental challenges the town is addressing with help from people like you.
